Questions

Plain answers to the booking, injury and format questions we hear in the first conversation. If yours is not here, write and we will answer it as part of arranging an assessment.

Starting

Do I need to be fit before the first assessment?

No. The assessment is how we find out how you move now, not a test you pass in order to begin. People arrive after long gaps, after physiotherapy, and after years of hard training that has stopped changing anything.

Wear ordinary training clothes and be ready to walk, squat, press and pull at a level that fits you. We choose the loaded tests after the conversation, not from a standard sheet.

If a doctor has asked you not to load a movement, write that in the form. We will work around it or ask you to clear it before we use it.

Fees

Do you sell packages or memberships?

No. The only required booking is the first assessment. After that you pay per session or per written block, after the work, by PayNow or card.

There is no automatic renewal and no discount that appears only if you pay for a year. If you stop writing, the work stops.

Indicative fees are on the programmes page and are confirmed in writing before the first paid session.

Injuries

I have an old shoulder injury. Will you work around it?

Usually, yes, inside a written list of what to avoid. If a physiotherapist or doctor has named ranges or loads, we follow that list and we will write to them if you ask us to.

An old injury that is quiet on ordinary days is different from a shoulder that is sharp, waking you at night, or travelling with numbness. In those cases we pause and ask you to speak to a clinician first.

We do not diagnose the shoulder in the studio, and we do not treat coaching as a substitute for care you already have.

Remote

Can you coach me if I train in my condo gym?

Yes. After the in-person assessment we can write a monthly strength plan that uses what is actually in that room. We will ask you to list the racks, dumbbells and machines, including the ones that are usually occupied.

Video review covers up to three lifts a month. A side-on film of one working set is enough. We still prefer the first meeting in Outram so the writing is not guesswork.

If the condo gym cannot support the plan, we say so and write a shorter version rather than inventing equipment you do not have.

Nutrition

Do you give nutrition plans?

No. We talk about meal timing around sessions and whether you are eating enough to recover, in household language. We do not write menus, count macros for you, or prescribe supplements.

If you already work with a dietitian, stay with that person. We will not contradict a clinical plan from the studio floor.

Site content is general fitness information and does not replace advice from a doctor or dietitian.

Frequency

How often should I come in?

For one-to-one coaching, weekly is common in the first block and fortnightly once the session shape is familiar. The assessment itself is a single ninety-minute visit.

Written programming assumes you already have a place to train and come in only for reviews or for a lift that needs eyes on it.

The useful answer is the one that survives your calendar. Two sessions that happen beat four that you bargain away every Thursday.

Travel

What if I travel for two weeks a month?

Say so in the assessment. We write two versions of each week: a full-gym day and a minimal day that uses dumbbells, a band, and bodyweight. That is the travel-pattern plan, or it can be folded into monthly programming.

Hotel gyms vary. We would rather you send a photograph of the room than pretend a barbell will be there.

If a trip is last-minute, write during studio hours and we will swap the week rather than ask you to “make up” sessions in a corridor.

Pairs

Can two of us train together?

Yes, if your training histories are close enough that one session shape can serve both of you with individual loads. That is pairs coaching, sixty minutes, booked as two people.

Both of you still start with the assessment, together or separately. We need a picture of each person, not an average.

If one of you is returning from injury and the other wants a hard strength block, two separate plans are kinder than a shared hour.

Review

What happens after eight weeks?

We sit with the first assessment and the session notes and ask three questions: what has become easier in daily life, what is still awkward, and what in the plan you did not do.

From that meeting we continue, change format, or stop. Stopping is a normal outcome. It means you can train from the notes without us in the room.

The decision is written on the same pages. Nothing renews unless you ask for another block.

Booking

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Write or call at least twelve hours before the session. Inside that window the session is charged as booked, unless we have had to move it ourselves.

There is no package to freeze and no points system. You are moving a single booking.

Studio hours are Monday–Friday 06:30–20:30 and Saturday 08:00–14:00. Sunday is closed. We answer enquiries within one working day.

Still deciding

A short message is enough. Name the constraint that matters — travel, a joint, a condo gym, a second person — and we will reply with the next step.
